Visiting a sick teacher

今天上午，我和她带着鲜花和水果去看老师。

Jīntiān shàngwǔ, wǒ hé tā dài zhe xiānhuā hé shuǐguǒ qù kàn lǎoshī.

This morning, she and I went to see the teacher with flowers and fruits.

一走进房间，就看见老师正躺着看书呢。

Yì zǒu jìn fángjiān, jiù kànjiàn lǎoshī zhèng tǎng zhe kàn shū ne.

As soon as I walked into the room, I saw the teacher lying down and reading a book.

房间里很干净，也很安静。

Fángjiān lǐ hěn gānjìng, yě hěn ānjìng.

The room was very clean and quiet.

桌子上摆着一个花瓶，花瓶里插着一束鲜花，花瓶旁边放着一本汉语书。

Zhuōzi shàng bǎi zhe yí ge huāpíng, huāpíng lǐ chā zhe yí shù xiānhuā, huāpíng pángbiān fàng zhe yì běn hànyǔ shū.

There is a vase on the table with a bouquet of flowers in it, and a Chinese book next to the vase.

看见我们进来，老师很快地从床上坐起来，笑着说：“谢谢你们来看我。”

Kànjiàn wǒmen jìnlái, lǎoshī hěn kuài de cóng chuáng shàng zuò qǐlái, xiào zhe shuō:“Xièxie nǐmen lái kàn wǒ.”

Seeing us coming in, the teacher quickly sat up from the bed and said with a smile: "Thank you for coming to see me."

你觉得好点儿了吗？

Nǐ juéde hǎo diǎnr le ma?

Are you feeling better?

我觉得好多了，已经不发烧了。

Wǒ juéde hǎo duō le, yǐjīng bù fāshāo le.

I feel much better and my fever is gone.

你觉得吃东西怎么样？

Nǐ juéde chī dōngxi zěnme yàng?

How do you feel about eating?

还好，不过，我不太习惯这儿的饭菜，油太多。

Hái hǎo, bú guò, wǒ bú tài xíguàn zhèr de fàncài, yóu tài duō.

It's okay, but I'm not used to the food here, it's too oily.

你真用功，病着还这么努力地学习。

Nǐ zhēn yònggōng, bìng zhe hái zhème nǔlì de xuéxí.

You are so diligent, you study so hard even when you are sick.

今天你们学到十四课了吧？

Jīntiān nǐmen xué dào shísì kè le ba?

Have you learned fourteen lessons today?

十四课已经学完了，该学十五课了。

Shísì kè yǐjīng xué wán le, gāi xué shíwǔ kè le.

The fourteenth lesson has been studied and it is time to study the fifteenth lesson.

我真想今天就出院，可是大夫说最少还要休息一个星期。

Wǒ zhēn xiǎng jīntiān jiù chūyuàn, kěshì dàifu shuō zuìshǎo hái yào xiūxi yí ge xīngqī.

I really wanted to leave the hospital today, but the doctor said I would have to rest for at least a week.

真急人！

Zhēn jí rén!

What a hurry!

你不用着急，还是要听大夫的话，身体好了再出院。

Nǐ bú yòng zháojí, háishì yào tīng dàifu de huà, shēntǐ hǎo le zài chūyuàn.

You don't have to worry, you still have to listen to the doctor and wait until you feel better before being discharged from the hospital.

昨天晚上她来看我了，还带来了她亲自给我做的面条。

Zuótiān wǎnshang tā lái kàn wǒ le, hái dài lái le tā qīnzì gěi wǒ zuò de miàntiáo.

She came to see me last night and brought noodles that she made for me herself.

我出院后，就给你们补课。

Wǒ chūyuàn hòu, jiù gěi nǐmen bǔkè.

After I am discharged from the hospital, I will give you extra lessons.

我们该走了，你好好休息吧。

Wǒmen gāi zǒu le, nǐ hǎohao xiūxi ba.

It's time for us to leave. You should have a good rest.

你快回去吧，小心别着凉。

Nǐ kuài huíqù ba, xiǎoxīn bié zháo liáng.

Go back quickly and be careful not to catch a cold.

老师拉着我的手说：“谢谢你们来看我！”

Lǎoshī lā zhe wǒ de shǒu shuō:“Xièxie nǐmen lái kàn wǒ!”

The teacher took my hand and said, "Thank you for coming to see me!"

下了楼，我回过头时，看见她还在阳台上站着，挥手向我告别。

Xià le lóu, wǒ huí guò tóu shí, kànjiàn tā hái zài yángtái shàng zhàn zhe, huīshǒu xiàng wǒ gàobié.

After going downstairs, when I looked back, I saw her still standing on the balcony, waving goodbye to me.
