•所 always precedes a transitive verb (Subject + 所 + V + 的 + N); also used in the formal passive 为/被…所 + V.
⚠️ Common Mistakes:
•Placing 所 after a noun instead of before a verb: 所 must precede the verb.
•Using 所 before an intransitive verb that cannot take a logical object (e.g., *我所休息的地方).
•Omitting 的 after "所 + V" when modifying a following head noun in modern prose (e.g., *他所提出建议 -> 他所提出的建议).
