Preposition 离 (lí) - Spatial or temporal distance

Pattern

• Place A + 离 + Place B + (很远 / 很近 / Distance)
• Time A + 离 + Time B + Time duration

Usage

• Used to express distance in space or time between two points.

Examples

1. 1

   我家离学校很远。

   Wǒ jiā lí xuéxiào hěn yuǎn.

   My home is very far from the school.

2. 2

   学校离机场有二十公里。

   Xuéxiào lí jīchǎng yǒu èrshí gōnglǐ.

   The school is twenty kilometers away from the airport.
