Pattern

"给我 + V" is a distinctive colloquial imperative structure tested in HSK 7-9 listening, drama, and fiction:
(1) Pragmatic meaning: here "给我" does NOT mean transferring an object to the speaker; instead, it means "on my authority / as I command you, do V right now!", expressing anger, impatience, or Dominance.
(2) Common imperative verbs: 你给我闭嘴！
(Shut your mouth!), 你给我滚出去！
(Get out of here!), 都给我安静下来！
(Everybody quiet down!)

•Used only in spoken Chinese for stern/angry commands; when combined with 把, place "把 + O" BEFORE 给我 (把这件事给我办好).

⚠️ Common Mistakes:

•Using "你给我 + V" when speaking politely to elders, superiors, or strangers: it is extremely rude and bossy.

•Misinterpreting imperative "给我 + intransitive V" (like 给我闭嘴 / 给我滚) as literally "give me something".

•Using colloquial imperative "给我 + V" in formal essays, academic papers, or official documents.

•Reversing the order of 把 and 给我 (*给我把这件事办好 is less emphatic/natural than 把这件事给我办好！).
