Usage

• An adverb / conjunction introducing a striking or extreme case to stress a big step up; usually placed before the last item in a series and often combined as 甚至连……都…….

Examples

   这里离公司不远，你可以坐公交车，甚至可以骑自行车上班。

   Zhèli lí gōngsī bù yuǎn, nǐ kěyǐ zuò gōngjiāochē, shènzhì kěyǐ qí zìxíngchē shàngbān.

   It's not far from the office – you can take the bus, or even cycle to work.

   他忙得甚至连午饭都忘了吃。

   Tā máng de shènzhì lián wǔfàn dōu wàng le chī.

   He was so busy that he even forgot to eat lunch.
