Meaning: About, regarding (introduces a topic or scope)

Pattern

关于 (guānyú) is a preposition meaning “about”, “concerning”, “regarding”, or “with respect to”.
It introduces the topic or domain to which the rest of the sentence relates.
Two primary syntactic usages: (1) Sentence-initial topic introducer: placed at the beginning of a sentence followed by a comma: 关于这个问题，我有一些想法 (Regarding this issue, I have a few ideas); (2) Attributive modifier before a head noun, in which case 的 is mandatory: 关于中国历史的书 (books about Chinese history).

•Distinguish 关于 (topic/content) from 对于 (target of attitude/opinion).

⚠️ Common Mistakes:

•Confusing 关于 (about a topic) with 对于 (attitude towards an object).

•Placing 关于 in the middle of a sentence between subject and predicate instead of at the head.
