Aspect Particle 了 (le) after Verbs - Indicating Completed Action

Meaning: Aspect particle 'le' (completion of an action)

Pattern

Subject + Verb + 了 + (Object)

Usage

Placed immediately after a verb to indicate that the action has taken place or has been completed.

Examples

她去商店了。
Tā qù shāngdiàn le.
She went to the shop.

我买了一点儿苹果。
Wǒ mǎi le yìdiǎnr píngguǒ.
I bought a few apples.

Notes

The negation of an unoccurred action uses 没 / 没有 + Verb (and drop 了).
