The 是 (shì) Sentence - Affirmation and Judgement

Pattern

• Subject + 是 + Object
• Subject + 不是 + Object (Negative)

Usage

• Used to express identity, occupation, category, or characteristics of people and things.
• In the negative form, 不 is placed before 是 to form 不是.

Examples

   我是老师。

   Wǒ shì lǎoshī.

   I am a teacher.

2. 2

   李月不是老师。

   Lǐ Yuè bú shì lǎoshī.

   Li Yue is not a teacher.
