左……右…… (zuǒ……yòu……) – again and again, over and over

Pattern

• 左 + Verb + 右 + Verb（左思右想 / 左看右看）
• 左 + 一 + Measure word + 右 + 一 + Measure word

Usage

• A fixed frame whose two slots take the same or similar verbs (左看右看, 左思右想, 左等右等), showing an action repeated many times without result; usually followed by a clause stating the outcome (还是……, 也……).

   整个团队围绕这个方案左修改右调整，力求达到最佳效果。

   Zhěnggè tuánduì wéirào zhège fāng'àn zuǒ xiūgǎi yòu tiáozhěng, lìqiú dádào zuì jiā xiàoguǒ.

   The whole team revised and adjusted the plan over and over, striving for the best result.

   我左思右想，还是决定接受这份工作。

   Wǒ zuǒ sī yòu xiǎng, háishi juédìng jiēshòu zhè fèn gōngzuò.
