Usage

• Starts the second clause to draw a judgement or conclusion from the facts in the first; 由此可见 is common in writing.

Examples

   他住院好几天了，一直查不出问题，可见情况不太好。

   Tā zhùyuàn hǎo jǐ tiān le, yìzhí chá bù chū wèntí, kějiàn qíngkuàng bú tài hǎo.

   He's been in hospital for days and they still can't find the problem – clearly the situation isn't good.

   这本书一个月就卖出了十万本，由此可见它有多受欢迎。

   Zhè běn shū yí gè yuè jiù mài chū le shíwàn běn, yóucǐ kějiàn tā yǒu duō shòu huānyíng.

   This book sold 100,000 copies in a single month, which shows how popular it is.
