Interrogative Pronoun 几 (jǐ)

Meaning: How many / How much (small quantity < 10)

Pattern

几 + Measure word + Noun?
几 + 岁?
几 + 点 / 月 / 号?

Usage

Used to ask about small quantities (usually expected to be under 10), children's age, dates, or time.
Must be followed by a measure word.

Examples

Nǐ yǒu jǐ ge Hànyǔ lǎoshī?
How many Chinese teachers do you have?

How old is your daughter?

Notes

To ask the age of children under 10, use 几岁. For adults or teenagers, usually use 多大.
